PRESS INFORMATION - Aluminium 2016

EUnited Metallurgy is partner again!

The outlook is great for the 11th ALUMINIUM World Trade Fair scheduled to take place in Düsseldorf from 29 November to 1 December 2016: About 1,000 exhibitors from more than 50 nations are expected at the world’s largest industry meeting. EUnited Metallurgy and ALUMINIUM 2016 will continue their cooperation as partners. Every other year, the ALUMINIUM World Trade Fair showcases new pioneering solutions for more efficiency in production and processing – from raw materials to semi-finished goods to finished products from the user industries, from machinery to production plants and accessories to surface treatments.

In 2016, the trade fair will focus on lightweight construction as well as resource and cost efficiency.

Going forward, the lightweight construction megatrend ensures excellent growth opportunities for aluminium as an industrial material. The prerequisite is that industry succeeds in making the production process and the entire recycling system resource- and cost-efficient. In the long run, a lean and efficient value chain will be critical for the competitiveness of the material.

More than 50 nations will get together at ALUMINIUM 2016. Among the largest exhibitor nations this year (behind Germany) will be Italy, China and Turkey. Several country pavilions reflect the trade fair’s international relevance. Among them will be the Chinese, Dutch, Russian and Danish Pavilions. The Nordic Pavilion will present a group of companies from Norway and Iceland. For the first time companies from Taiwan will exhibit in an own pavilion.

ALUMINIUM 2016 Conference reveals potential for the future

In presentations fitting the overarching theme “Aluminium – Material for the Future”, international materials experts will share new insights from these segments: Plant and Processes, Automotive, Surface, Recycling and Aluminium Markets. The international ALUMINIUM 2016 Conference is being organised once again by the German Confederation of the Aluminium Industry. The conference language is English.

Largest trade fair marketplace for lightweight construction challenges

The focus on the lightweight construction trend creates perfect tie-ins with the concurrently held COMPOSITES EUROPE 2016. More than 300 exhibitors participate in the European Trade Fair for Composites to showcase technologies and trends in the glass-, carbon- and biofibre-reinforced plastics segments. In many application areas, metal-containing composites will benefit from the race toward lightweight materials. Together with COMPOSITES EUROPE, ALUMINIUM is perfectly positioned to face newly emerging challenges.

Featuring the materials aluminium, magnesium and fibre-reinforced plastics, Düsseldorf from 29 November to 1 December will be largest trade fair marketplace for lightweight construction challenges in the automotive sector, aerospace, mechanical engineering, the sports and leisure industry, wind power, and the construction sector. ALUMINIUM and COMPOSITES EUROPE are a successful trade fair duo bringing together a combined more than 1,300 exhibitors and 30,000 experts from industry, research and development.
