EUnited Robotics' New Chairman - Henrik A. Schunk, Managing Partner of Schunk GmbH & Co. KG

At the recent EUnited Robotics Members' Assembly on June 12th in Rottach-Egern, Mr. Henrik A. Schunk, Managing Partner of Schunk GmbH & Co. KG, was elected as the new Chairman of EUnited Robotics. Mr. Henrik Schunk is the successor of Mr. Stefan Müller, former Managing Director of KUKA Roboter GmbH, who was one of the founding members and Chairman of EUnited Robotics for the past six years.

In a short speech, Mr. Schunk thanked Mr. Müller for his outstanding contributions to EUnited Robotics and European robotics in general. "Mr. Müller recognized that only an association with direct membership and active involvement of European robotics CEOs will have a chance to succeed in negotiating with the European Commission." stated Mr. Schunk.

He went on recognizing Mr. Müller's achievements in bringing together key-people from industry and leading research institutes which in turn played a key role in the further development of robotics.After congratulating Mr. Müller on his retirement, Mr. Schunk focused on his vision for the future of EUnited Robotics and pledged to build upon the work of his predecessor. EUnited Robotics will continue to be the voice of the robotics industry in Europe and maintain its contacts to the European Commission, universities and research institutes. Another major focus for EUnited Robotics will be strengthening public relations for better acceptance and awareness of robotics in the public's perception and the society in general.

The following two Vice Chairman were also re-elected at the June 12th EUnited Robotics Members' Assembly: Mr. Anders Nylander, Group Vice Presídent of the Robotics Unit at ABB AB, and Mr. Maurizio Filoni, Chief Operating Officer at Comau S.p.A.
