No overlappings of Construction Products Regulation with plant-related Machinery Directive

Do plant-related construction products fall under the Construction Products Regulation? Eunited Metallurgy works out a plant related interpretation in a Position Paper.

The Construction Products Regulation  - EN 1090-1 came into force as per 24.04.2011. It lays down harmonised conditions for the marketing of construction products and repealing. The application of EN 1090-1 has been fully binding since July 2014.

EUnited Metallurgy Technical Committee set up a task force to analyse possible interferences with the Machinery Directive because plant builders, consultants, customer industries and authorities have diverging views on how binding CPR possibly is for metallurgical plant builders and machinery suppliers. A group of EUnited Metallurgy member companies worked out a position paper.

The current valid document will be updated. We expect the final version by end of November, 2016.
