European industry of municipal equipment re-elected Michael Häusermann as Chairman

After the growing demand in the last years we expect a restrained investment of the public-sector, says Michael Häusermann (Bucher Municipal) after his re-election as Chairman of EUnited Municipal Equipment.

The European manufacturers of mobile machinery for municipal and other public services have met on the occasion of their General Assembly in Brussels and confirmed Michael Häusermann of Bucher Municipal (Switzerland) as Chairman of EUnited Municipal Equipment for a further two year-term. EUnited Municipal Equipment is the European Association of manufacturers of refuse collection vehicles, road sweeping and winter maintenance equipment. EUnited Municipal Equipment represents the leading manufacturers of the municipal equipment industry in Europe and is the largest service provider for this industrial sector.

Since the demand for new innovative products from the municipal equipment industry continuously has grown in recent years, the manufacturers expect a restrained public-sector investment and thus a decline in demand for municipal machines, says Michael Häusermann. He sees himself in an industry that continues to reduce noise, exhaust gas emissions, fuel consumption and particulate matters of machines with new ideas and thus supports its customers to be able to handle their services more efficiently. In his new term, Michael Häusermann wants to deepen the dialogue with the political decision makers particularly in Brussels.

Besides Michael Häusermann who also had been confirmed as Chairman of the road sweeper manufacturer section, Godfried Terberg (Terberg Machines, Netherlands) as Chairman of the refuse collection vehicles section and Rudi Rosenkamp (Aebi Schmidt Holding AG, Germany) who was elected as new Chairman of the winter maintenance equipment section form the Board of Directors of EUnited Municipal Equipment. Rudi Rosenkamp is the successor of Walter Schmitz (Aebi Schmidt Holding AG, Germany). Since the founding of the section winter maintenance equipment in 2003, Schmitz had been Chairman of the group.
