EPBD - The EU confirms the potential of individual room temperature control

Within the scope of the recent revision process of the EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), the European Parliament, the Council and the Commission agreed to support a cost-effective tool for comfort and energy saving: The individual room temperature control. The EU thus meets the demand made by EUnited Valves.

Four out of ten radiators in Europe still do not offer a possibility to precisely set a desired room temperature. This requires at least a thermostatic valve.

The final votes are expected to take place in the next few weeks. By summer, the directive should be adopted by Council and Parliament. Then, a period of 18 months remains for the countries to transpose the directive into national law.

EUnited Valves is very pleased about this success and would like to thank MEP Dr. Peter Liese and his team, in particular, for their committed dedication.

Finally, the support of some manufacturers, especially from Italy, France, Denmark, Germany and Great Britain, proved very helpful. The same applies to the commitment of the relevant national associations from these countries.
